Residing at The Meadows Senior Living

By Maureen Elston

Maureen Elston
How long have you lived at The Meadows Assisted Living?

We moved here in 2017.

What brought you to The Meadows?

Our kids.  We lived at the lake and were kind of out there by ourselves.  Our balance wasn't good, so they said they wanted us here where someone would be around.

What do you like about living here?

Everything! They've been so good to me. It's an attractive building which makes you proud of where you live. It's connected to the hospital, we have a beautiful courtyard, we're connected to the Wildflower Cafe, and we don't have to shovel snow or mow the lawn.

What are some of your favorite activities?

I like BINGO on Sundays.  We even earn tickets that we can use later for shopping.  I like bean bag throw, trivia, crafts, and manicures on Mondays.  We have church on Sunday evenings and everyone is welcome to come.  I love when we have entertainment like singers come too.

What would you say to someone considering The Meadows as their new home?

Like I mentioned before, it's attractive, the food is good, it's connected to the hospital and all its services, and the staff is so good.  They make you feel like a very important person.

Is there anything else you would like to share about living here?

You're not alone.  You get to know others (neighbors).  We have "Reminisce Time" where we share about our lives with each other.  The staff takes good care of us.  They are wonderful and friendly.  Maintenance fixes things if needed and takes care of the outside.  You can be as active as you feel up to it.
